MfJ ushered in the new year listening to White Lies.
Which in itself is a rather large untruth; this being Scotland, the de facto year change thing (at least among the reprobates and ne’er-do-wells whom invite them selves to MfJ Towers for alcohol and Swingball) is to listen to truly dreadful home-grown pish. This year’s Deacon Blue being only slightly better than the Proclaimers track that spewed all over the 2008 kick-off.
But as for White Lies, To Lose My Life did generate a play at some stage of the evening. Horribly, horribly hyped, they’re either the Killers covering Joy Division (a terrible thought), or Joy Division covering the Killers, which at least provides hope…
